  He was the oldest of a family of eleven. Born in Kilwinning, he came to Dundee as a child. He ministered in Presbyterian churches in Wooler, Hammersmith, and latterly in St James' and Trinity Church, Bristol. For the past year he lived at 4 Cardross Street with his cousin, Mrs Dargie. Mr Conway was to have preached in Ward Road Baptist Church on Sunday. He was predeceased by his wife and daughter.⁵
