Inscription reads Erected by James McClenaghan grocer Monkton in memory of his wife Janet Conway d 19 Sep 1879 aged 70; also his mother Janet Carson d 5 May 1870 aged 90; the above James McClenaghan d 15 Jul 1890 aged 80.⁴
